Default "68" J car, what is it?
can anyone tell me what a J car is? I have a 1968 coupe and the 5th digit in the VIN is a J, I'm lost. Help!

Hello. The J means that your car came with a 302/ 4bbl originally.

The J Code is for the 302 4 barrel....I kept looking for a 4 barrel Torino (cuz if it came in the Mustang it should come in the Fairlane line) with no dice. It was only in the mustangs you could get that code.
