Default How parking lights work on a 1965 Mustang

I have completely rebuilt the wiring in my 65 Convertible. All my lights work but I am not sure if the parking lights are suppose to go out when the headlights go on. They go on when I put just the parking lights on but they go off when I put the headlights on. The turn signals work with the headlights on but the parking lights don't. Is this the way they are suppose to work? Hopefully someone knows the answer. Thanks, Brad

I believe they are called parking lights because they only work in that position. I have an older electrical guru that tells me parking lights are just that, running lights are the head leights. If that mkes any sense. Mine are the same way.

Yep, thats how they work. They have 2 functions. 1- They act as the front turn signals. 2-They are the parking/daytime running lights. They go on when you pull the switch out one notch, and go off when you put the headlights on by pulling the knob out one more notch.
