Smile 1967 Mustang Fastback Interior?

Hi I recently bought a 67 fastback restoration project.
The Fiberglass around the rear seat is covered with a fabric which needs to be replaced.
My question is was this a factory option or was this someone idea of customising there interior. Any picture I find on the net just look like they have been sprayed with paint?
I would be grateful for any advise or help on the matter

Dave

The panels did not come covered with cloth originally.

Thanks for the reply.
It did look nice with the fabric on. Time has been hard on it.

Treat those fiberglass panels like gold. They are fragile from age and very expensive to replace.

Don't remove the small metal mounting brackets from the body that hold them in place unless you document their placement. It can be very confusing returning them to their proper position.
