Default What's the best outdoor car cover?

I'm looking for a good outdoor car cover and have heard that the Covercraft Weathershield HD is the best. Does anyone have any experience with this cover? Or comments on other outdoor covers good/bad?

Thanks,
-Will

the outdoor car capsule would have to be the ultimate outdoor cover i would guess. I use theindoor version on my car to keep mice and other critters out of the car.

I used covercraft..........let's just say they don't want you to know my response. Oh and the warranty??? It was a very kind persuasive ignoring of my request to get some action. They acted like they were very helpful and interested........and just kept that "act" till I gave up.

I used a car cover at times when storms were coming during the winter for my 87 Caprice wagon that's stored outside. It has done some expensive damage to the car! Even though I tied it down with extra rope it did blow and shift slightly with the wind. It wore the paint and the fake woodgrain. The wood grain was in perfect shape before hand, now it has to be redone, and that's a few grand to do that only, not including the paint.

here is a link to the outdoor car capsule. I think it would avoid most of the problems of tying a car cover to a car in high winds. but I have not used one outside. I have used my indoor capsule for five years now.

I've seen those before, pretty cool and I would say - probably worth the extra few hundred upgrade from a regular car cover... I think maybe if you had a large piece of property it would work better??... because the school kids walk past my house and I wonder how long it would be before it suffered the same stabbing fate as the blow up snowmen....

That looks fancy. I wonder why they don't warranty it longer.

How does the floor hold up after driving on it for a couple of years?

How does the floor hold up after moisture gets under it?

Will it hold up to snow and ice?

And does it get hot during a hot summer in the sun.

Looks nice...I also wondered about kids being drawn to it.

What was this bad Covercraft experience?

What was the car cover used that damaged your wagon?

I just looked at the one I had and I can't find a brand on it, the tag is gone. It's a very heavy fabric, tan on the outside and white on the inside. It is rated for outside use as I have another one for my 68 Mustang but it's for inside use only. The one for my Mustang is a very thin fabric and wouldn't hold off the elements. The Mustang is garaged year round so I only use it as a dust cover. The wagon has no garage available so I had to get a better cover for it.

I live in a high wind area on top of a hill. I knew the winds may catch it so that's why I added extra rope under the car from side to side to hold it down. It still would shift slightly though and enough to do damage.

Costco.com has a couple of covers/blow ups. I would love to have. $$$ but most things from Costco are worth it.

Ah yes, the Carcoon, similar to the Car Capsule, but they claim to be the first and better...don't really know though.

I'm thinking that for the time being I may want to just get a normal cover that will keep the rain and snow away from the car. Maybe once I get it fixed up a little more then look at a larger investment.

What about Noah?
