Default 1969 Mustang Convertible to 1969 Shelby

I have 1969 Convertible that is rust free (West Texas car) and reasonable straight. Been planning lots of new project with it, but the latest, greatest on that really sticks is to convert it to a 1969 Modernized Shelby clone.

I have been looking at the parts needed and looks like about a $9000.00 price just for exterior parts. I have 5 engines/transmissions of vary degrees (including a real Boss 302) of power and stages, so that is not a problem.

My big question is who all sells exterior body parts to convert to the Shelby body style? I also wonder what the value of a well done unit would be worth compared to leaving it in stock status?

JonFord.

I can't tell you what the actual value would be, but I can tell you that I look at listings for classics and muscle cars quite often and when I see a listing that states tribute, clone, or replica, I just skip to the next listing.

It's your car, so do what you want with it. If you are worried about resale, do a lot of research.

Surprisingly well done Shelby clones do well. The operative words . . . well done. Do not expect Shelby numbers, but this is one area if it is built right and didn't cost a bundle to do, you may be able to make money on it.

For the parts, I would recommend Branda.
