Default Confused about my Mustang's block

All these years I was convinced I had a 302, now I am beginning to question. While replacing the intake gaskets I took some time to snap pics of the top end disassembled. When I bought the car in 1989, the previous owner informed me the engine had a recent rebuild of the 302 from a torino with the addition of 289 heads for higher compression. Removing the valve covers confirms the 289 heads, but I don't see a 302 stamp in the lifter valley. The intake does have a 1973 cast number, I know the cast number behind the starter would help solve the question, but are there any other ways to tell if it is a 302 or not? The "5" and "Ford Oval" are the only markings in the lifter valley, picture is attached.

It was 68 as the 2v 289 continued on (see below). Some C code cars did got 302 blocks as the 289s were running out.

The 302 was introduced shortly into the 68 model year as a 4v, the J code. For some time you could order the 2v 289 (C code) or the 4v 302 (J code).

67 was the last year for the 4v 289s, the A and K codes.

Hopefully a 1969 convertible or Sportsroof (non Mach or Boss) for next Mustang project

Trying to find my father's 1973 Mustang Grande he bought brand new. 3F04F126773 last known registration and title was in New Jersey, 1982.

Get the casting numbers off the block there right by the starter.

Where can I look up the casting numbers to determine what kind of engine I am looking at?
