Default 1970 Mustang

Ive been checking out a mustang listed for sale at my local gas station. it's a 1970, 200 ci straight six, three speed, 42,000 miles. The body is in fine shape, minumum cosmetic rust. He's asking 5,000, is this a good buy? and about how many mpg do you think i'd be getting?

I'd talk him down 5k is a little high for car with rust.Mpg depends on a lot of things like driving style and well the car is kept up.

5K may not be far off the mark. Check what some of the coupes are going for on Ebay. Granted that they may V8's and in better condition, however I do not see many that have been restored to show condition or in good original condition. If original, good condition, and a V8, probably 8K and up.

This will surprise you, my 14 year old son found a 1970 Mustang Coupe with a 302 that has been in a garage since 1989. The owner started to restore it, however time and money seemd to be the issue. The engine was rebuilt, new headliner, rear seat looks new, and the body has 3 minor rust spots that appear to surface only.

I paid $1200 for it.

I found a 1970 coupe with a new engine with hardly any miles on it on ebay the only damage was in the vinyl roof where it started to put up from the molding and i paid 6000 for it

and i figured i get around 13 mpg and i have a pretty calm driving style
