Default ram air induction......

how does ram air and a shaker work? what does it do? does it produce more horsepower and did 65-66 stangs come with it?do(did) they make a special hood for a 65-66 ram air or a shaker?

65-66's did not come with the ram-air and shaker options, those came about in '69 (?) or later. The idea of Ram air is to "ram" air into the carburetor, or intake manifold, creating a much higher flow of oxygen then needed, allowing the engine to breath. Unfourtuanately, at high speeds, a ram-air kit mounted on the hood can do the opposite as there is a low pressure pocket of air on the hood

would this work on a car equipped with a paxton supercharger?(does the super charger have to have ram air)
