is it the original one that you car had? If it is, it is most likely a 19:1 ratio. The GT's were a 16:1 ratio. I put a 16:1 into my car when i replaced the steering box.

No, it's not original to my car, but it's in there now.

Hello. That tag should say SMB-K on the top row and 9B27B on the bottom row. If that is, in fact, what it says, then you have the 16.0:1 ratio from a 69 model car that had power steering. The bottom row is a date code which says 02/27/69-2nd shift. Hope that helps.

Here's a pic of the tag. It looks like S B K to me, you tell me.

Hi again. Yup. It used to have an M in there that time and the clean-up procedure have pretty much erased. If you look at the tag closely with the assumption in your mind that the M is there, because it has to be, you can still kind of see where it was. You could probably see it better if you got that silver paint off of tag, but it's a 16:1 from a 69 model car that had power steering.

I see what you mean. It looks like a faint M there.

Thanx

Before I put the Tilt Column in, I had a SMB-B 7D05P Power Steering Box in there. I found info on that one that said 1967, 16 : 1, Spec. Man. Is the old one rare?
