I believe it is my speedometer that makes a ticking noise when I am driving, the interval between ticks increases as my speed increases. What could I do to fix it or make it stop? or is it a different problem?

Sounds like the speedometer cable.Take it out,clean it,and then lube it well with a good grease.

I had the same thing with my '66 fastback. It was the cable and cleaning, and lube did the trick. Make sure you get it tight, but not over tight, when you reinstall it.
