Default How can I find my 65 mustang?

Likely this is a search that will not have and end. But, here goes. In 1965 I purchased an A code mustang 2+2. Was a four speed car with black interior. Was not a GT. Exterior paint was Twilight Turquoise. Car was purchased in Austin Texas. I traded the car to an individual in 1970. Do not know what happened to car after that. Car did not have original engine when I traded. (I built several engines for the car). I replaced the stock rear end with a 9 inch from a 57 ford. Also installed a cross flow radiator and cut front license plate mounting area to create additional air flow. I do not have any paperwork for the car.

Thanks

Next time don't drink so much and it'll be easier to remember where you parked it.

Hello. That's why I have mine rigged up so that I can push a button in my purse and my car starts hollering " Hey, Moronica!!! I'm over here!!"

First, since you bought it in 1965, I am assuming you bought it new. If the dealer is still in business, start there. If not, try to remember who you had the car insured through and contact them to do an archive search. You need to find the VIN.

If you still can't find it, try your local TXDOT to track down the title. They may be able to do it by your name.

If you can find the VIN, TXDOT should be able to tell you where the car is provided it is currently registered or has been within the past 7 years (I think it's 7).

Good luck!

As stated above, without the VIN# you have virtually no chance to ever find the car.

Try to find the VIN# and post on every mustang site you can find. The other thing is, if you do find the car the current owner may have no intention of selling it back to you.

Problem is the battery is likely dead.

Do you remember anything about the person you sold the car to? If you have a name or partial name you can try an internet search. If several people with the same name come up you just contact them individually.

Locating the VIN is still your best bet but I just wanted to throw the other idea out there.

DMV and other searches aren't easy these days due to privacy laws, information being purged periodically, and the amount of time that has passed since you got rid of the car. In my sig is my father's 73 I'm trying to track down with no real info so far even though I have a complete VIN, know where the car went directly after he got rid of it, and had NJ attempt a search on it.

Hopefully a 1969 convertible or Sportsroof (non Mach or Boss) for next Mustang project

Trying to find my father's 1973 Mustang Grande he bought brand new. 3F04F126773 last known registration and title was in New Jersey, 1982.
