Default 65 interior paint sheen

My 65 convertible has been on blocks and in boxes for 32 yrs while I did all the stuff that got me into retirement. The tag says it happened to built on my birthday so I've told the wife that's too cool so it's just meant to be. The car was totally disassembled long ago. The totally rebuilt engine has 5K miles on it. The past year or so the frame had been totally redone, the sheet metal rebuilt or replaced, and repainted original color (Springtime Yellow).

It's not critical but I want to do the black dash and interior quarters original too. So my question........... Does anyone know if the black is semi-gloss or satin?

Will be installing wiring harnesses soon and no doubt will have more questions.

Well in 65 they called it satin. I took a sample to my favorite paint store- Born Paint in Peoria and Chuck ( may God bless you and smile on you forever) matched it perfectly years ago. Any automotive paint store worth it's salt should be able to do the same.

Hi, Mr. Martino .
Rodbender only lives about 150 miles from you. I'm sure that he would have no problem with driving to where your car is and working on it evenings and weekends. Money? Naaah. It would be his pleasure. He'd be happy to do it.

I see that young lady! Always good to hear from my favorite Texas twister on here. And way to set me up right before the wiring, sheez! I hope the holidays treat you and yours well. Actually, I could be fairly informative at this point as I'm going through my '65 again. . Repaint and fresh motor and trans. $$$$$$. Getting back to Mr Martino...hey I'm always up for a road trip if ya get stuck!

Hi again. We're all just as happy as can be down here. Hope you guys are also well. Happy Thanksgiving.

If I was going to pick the one thing that is absolutely the most fun on one of these cars it would be the wiring. I envy people with the wiring still ahead in the project. Wish I could fly up there and help out, but, when the temperature drops below 60, I don't leave the house.
