Hello. This is a very simple matter to determine.
Is the car sleek, elegant, nimble, attractive and quick? If yes, it's female.
Is the car brutish, ill-tempered, occasionally won't even start due to laziness, and the gauges lie even when the truth would sound better? If yes, it's definitely male.

Ugh. I guess that means I've been mis-concepted by calling my car "her". Haha.

My "girl" is definitely sleek, elegant, nimble, attractive and quick but I know that she's a "she" mainly because it wasn't the initial expense that broke me, It's ongoing upkeep!
That's a funny question... I thought about it too. I think it also has to do with whether you're a guy or a girl. I'm a girl, and I tend to give my cars guy names, I think mostly because I've always viewed cars as things guys would be into. They just seem male to me, ha ha.
Funny, I usually call my daily driver Sid, but I sometimes switch to Sidney in a female sense.... it goes back and forth depending on whether or not it's being nice to me. Currently it's hovering in the middle : )

Cool, I got my car right. The first day I drove him I gave my beloved little 66 the name "Oliver". And it fits very well. He is a small simple car with a straight six, an automatic trans, and an interesting personality. (Like the way he always leaks transmission fluid in my garage, or his bent in front bumper.)
Okay I'll admit my first reaction to my car was the color.....I really didn't like it. I do recall thinking it was a girl color.
But "she" grew on me......couldn't pay me to change it now.
However on my former car....
