Default shelby hoods on a 65.....

i really dig the shelby hood with the three triangular air indentations on the hood. will one of these fit on a 65 or can they be special ordered to fit?

Hello. If you are talking about the 69/70 Shelby hood, no, it won't fit on a 65. Is this the hood that you are talking about? Not even close. I suppose that you could have someone make a smaller version that would fit your car, but, that would be reeeeeeeal expensive. They have to make it from scratch with no possibility of being able to actually make their money on a volume sales. The hood would cost more than most 65 Mustangs.

yes thats the hood im talking bout(i think those are bad to the bone) are they functional ram air, or just functional? could you cut one down to fit a 65?

Hi again. Yup, they are functional ram air hoods. There are actually five vents on them. The one in the middle is the ram air, the two front side vents for fresh air into the engine bay and the back two let the hot air out. Here's a couple of pictures of the bottom of the hood of that car, along with the breather assembly. That rubbery donut on the hood drops down into that gap on the breather to form a seal. Well, in theory, that's what it's supposed to do. In practice, what it does is miss the gap and hit the breather, causing the hood to warp even worse than they normally would.
You can't cut them down because, if you do, the top side of the hood will separate from the bottom.

Give it time they make the 67 and 68 Shelby style hoods for the 65/66.

could you post some photos of the 67 - 68 shelby hoods?also where are they being sold at ?post a site please, id like to look at them and get a price idea. i really dig the ones veronica put up they are bad to the bone and would look great on a 65.

Try Mustang Hoods pretty much all mustang vendors sell both shop around.
