The production dates were about the 3rd week of August 1968 to the first week of August 1969, don't know exact dates. A few "preproduction" cars would be built in July or so for advertisement, magazine and other uses where those cars could be sold when done with.
All plants started thier VINs at 100001 and went to whenever the last car for that model year rolled off the line the following August. The last VIN I have for Metuchen 69 production is 9F02G222902 with a build date of July 18th. There was about another 2 weeks of production so the last VIN would be a bit higher than that, possibly in the 228000 series as 2 weeks before the 222 series they were in the 216 series.

I believe the Sports Appearance Group and Exterior Decor Goupe were different. I can't find any info either.
I would guess the Sports group would have the dual racing mirrors, non functional hood scoop, and styled steel wheels.
