Default Can Anyone Help Me Find This Light Bulb

I ahve a 1969 Mach 1 and am looking to replace the interior light bulbs as part of my restoration. The bulbs in the courtesy light in the deluxe door panel has "GE 212-1" printed on it. I have searched MANY parts places and online but can only find bulbs with "212-2".

It looks like the "212-2" will work and it actually fits. Is this a newer version? Will there be any problems if I use this bulb? Is the original bulb (GE 212-1) produced anymore?

Thanks for your help.

That would be the "212-2" that I readily find. It is similar to the original, "212-1" however it is a slight bit shorter and the glass portion is not as bulbous as on the original. Like I said, the "212-2" fits in the receptacle for the original. I do not know if the "212-2" draws more juice, burns brighter/hotter, or if it is just an updated version of the "212-1"

Reminds me of a old dome light.

They're measured by candle power (c.p.) with the light output. The higher the c.p. the more it uses and hotter it gets.

I had a chart somewhere listing automotive bulbs and they're c.p. and I'll have to see if I can find it. I added underdash lights in my 68 due to the black interior, the same lights that were on fastbacks and converts, and I decided to use a softer c.p. bulb due to having the dome light too.

I just pulled out the NPD catalog and they list the 212-2 for use in the door panels on the 69-70 cars. It's on page #160 of the 2008 catalog.
