i cant get the pictures to work, but its clean, no visable rust, the is incredible looking, no rips no cracks. does this sound like a good price?
8,900 sounds a little high for an unrestored "regular" coupe, I bought my unrestored 68 coupe 1 owner, documented, clean, no rust, 289 2v, with 77,000 miles for $6200 (and mine is a sprint edition, which adds a little uniqueness to it)... I would definately try to talk them down. If it is at a car dealership, remember that they have the price jacked up cuz they only care about 1 thing...Money!
Check out some others on the internet, and check the classified section here, I think you will see that you can get one just as nice for less. The ones you are talking about that are more expensive probably have new paint jobs, and are somewhat restored.
I'm gonna go against the grain and say that that's an excellent price IF the car is what the seller says it is. You can probably pick the car up for $8500.
If the car is rust-free and low mileage AND has all the documentation, then it sounds like a home run to me.
That price is fair, in my opinion. Normally people do start a little high expecting to be counter offered. There would be a slight increase due to being a J code.....more desirable than a C code, a slight increase for air, and another slight increase on the documentation and original plates and being a CA car for life.
Overall coupes seem to be holding thier values better than fastbacks with the market right now. I think it has to do with the fastbacks prices soaring the last few years and then our economy takes a dive so those soaring prices have too. The coupes values never shot up so they haven't been affected as much from what I've seen.

You got a VERY good deal! I paid $5500 for my 68 coupe and had to spend about $1200 just to get it fully roadworthy and able to pass inspection.
The Sprints seem to be sleepers, many people don't know about them or what they have with a car when they go to sell it.

Trying to find my father's 1973 Mustang Grande he bought brand new. 3F04F126773 last known registration and title was in New Jersey, 1982.
Sprint they made a a and b both was more marketing thing anything else.8,900 is high to me but most place adds high let you talk it down so you feel you got a deal. But hes in canada and mustangs do sell higher up there since most rusted away.
I think $8900 is about 10-15% high, but that may be because it's being sold at a dealer? I only say that because the quote in their ad that says, "ONE OWNER TILL LAST WEEK" That sounds like either a dealer or a Mustang shop trying to make a quick buck on flipping the car.
The claim of 54,000 miles also sounds like it's more likely 154,000. Not that it's a huge deal, but I wouldn't assume it's 54,000 original unless the car condition supports it.
There's also just too much info missing, like what condition the mechanics are in (engine, trans, brakes, suspension) These are old cars and since nothing is mentioned in the ad about recent work you can probably bet most of those items need to be gone through and either freshened up or replaced.
The Sprints were the look of the GT package without the mechanicals. They were given the stripes, pop open gas caps, fog lights in grille for example, basically the GTs exterior dress up items only.
