I really don't think an old JC penny tire would be worth much.

That JC Penny spare isn't an original tire.

No car manufacturer used department store tires as original equipment tires. Ford used Firestone and Goodyear back then for factory tires.

The only thing "original" to that JC Penny tire is being original to the 70s decade. It has no added value.

Hopefully a 1969 convertible or Sportsroof (non Mach or Boss) for next Mustang project

Trying to find my father's 1973 Mustang Grande he bought brand new. 3F04F126773 last known registration and title was in New Jersey, 1982.

Hello. If the car came with the space-saver spare, it would have been a B.F. Goodrich, if it came with a full sized spare it would have been a Goodyear more than likely, although it could have been a Firestone, as Jay mentioned. How this tire would affect the value would all depend on how difficult it turns out to be to get that junk off of the perfectly good wheel so that it can be disposed of properly.

From my experience, the full size spare tire would be a Firestone. I have never seen an original factory spare be anything other than a Firestone.
