That's a good article in general, but, there are a couple of things that aren't really as accurate as they could be. The only cars that had the carpet that didn't run up under the scuff plates and had that stupid-looking vinyl patch were the coupes. The convertibles had full carpeting. As an interesting ( to some

) side note, some of the first batch of 65 Shelby GT-350s, which were fastbacks, had the full carpeting on the front piece, but the carpet in what would have been the back seat area was like a 64 1/2 coupe, with the vinyl thing on the rocker panels, and, if these cars had come with a door tag, the scheduled production date from Ford would have been early december of 64.
The cars built prior to early april had a different hood than what is considered to be the 64 1/2 hood. This hood didn't have those lips hanging down, but had some of the reinforcement bends missing that the later hoods had on there up in the area of the hood latch. I've got some pictures of one sitting around somewere. I'll see if I can find them. A lot of little things, but, it's also an old article.
