Here in CT they don't issue titles for older vehicles, bill of sales only. I wonder if they would sell you the car with a bill of sale only, but I don't know what the requirements are in your state.
Have you looked at the car closely? You might get lucky and find old registration or insurance cards in the car and atleast have some info on a previous owner.
(For newer cars here in CT the salvage yard will normally sign over whatever title they have for the vehicle, they're not always salvaged titles. Depends on how/why they came into the yard. A major wreck from an insurance company would have a salvage title but a vehicle an individual junked because of a blown motor or bad
tranny wouldn't for example.)
It's definitely worth trying to save and you'd have to move quick since I heard the Pick n Pulls don't keep vehicles in thier yards for long. If that car is that nice and complete I'd throw them an offer of $550, that should make them consider since they'd only get $400 for both sections. Just a thought.
