Hi, I saw the block number near the starter is C6AE.. On top of the engine behind the intake manifod on a pad is stamped 8F 534408. What model/year would this 6 digit vin number (534408) apply to? 8F?

Is this possibly a Hi Po /289 block? The heads are NOT Hi Po. Would Ford have put a 66 289 block in a 68 302 car?

Hello. That isn't a hipo block. The hipos had the vin of the car stamped on the passenger side, towards the front right above the oil pan. Starting in 68, Ford stamped a partial vin on all motors in the location that you describe. What you have is a motor intended for a Dearborn built, 68 model car, with the sequential number of 534408.
