Default 1965 Build Sheet

Where are the likely places to find the build sheet on a 65 Mustang?

If you mean hidden in the car, the factory hiding spots were under the seats, under the dash behind the instruments bezel, and I have even heard someone say they found it underneath their carpet.

If you are trying to find a copy of your build sheet that isn't in your car, then you are out of luck. Ford tossed out the records for Mustangs from 64.5 to 66.

If you know if your car is exactly as it left the factory, then many classic mustang parts suppliers carry reproductions of the build sheet that you can stick in your printer and create. Hope this helps.

Not trying to steal the thread, but I am also wanting to reproduce my build sheet. Where can the codes used on these sheets be found so the reprocduction can be made?

Which codes. (I will use my car for example.) Do you just mean like these ones below, (I have omitted my car's unit number.)

Warranty Number: 6R07T******

Year: 6-- 1966
Plant: R-- San Jose, CA
Body Series: 07-- 2 Door Hardtop
Engine: T-- 200 1v I6
Unit: ******-- ******

Miscellaneous Vehicle Data

Body: 65A-- 2 Door Hardtop, Standard Interior
Color: M-- Wimbledon White
Trim: 25-- Red Crinkle Vinyl and Red Rosette Vinyl, Standard Interior
Date: 16C-- March 16, 1966
D.S.O: 72-- San Jose
Axle: 3-- 3.20:1, Conventional
Trans: 6-- C4 Automatic

Or are you looking for all the codes, including the factory options. If you are including those, than I don't know who could help you.

I don't have my original or a replic build sheet. What I have is a Mustang Red Book, and a copy of the 1966 Mustang accesories list. Unfortunately, neither of them have the price of the Sprint 200 package which is what I am looking for. So, if anybody has the price of the Sprint 200 package, and the accesories codes, please post them.

I have only had this car 4 years in NZ.
During it's previous live in the US it's had a few items replaced with aftermarket & non original parts.
I am trying to get it back as close as I can to original spec so a build sheet would be handy.

Thanks 66Sprint. I can decipher the data plate. It is the codes used on the build sheet I can't find. I have attached a pic (I hope) of one so anyone reading can see.

Here you go, I found this while looking for 1966 build sheets online. This guy has all the papers for his cars, including the factory punch card, which has most of the codes for the build sheet on it. 64½ Mustang Restoration page of Klaus - Order Documents from a '66 Mustang

Awsome find! I'll spend a few days deciphering these papers and I have no doubt that it will contain alot of what I need. I'll post my findings on this thread when I am finished so you guys can have access to the information if you want it.

I found 2 in my 69. One was under the front passenger carpet, the other was the driver's seat, between the burlap and the springs.

Yep, you never know what you will find in these. Several people have found official Ford styrofoam cups stuffed into nooks & crannies, or just squished under the carpet.

Or...you can just order one from Marti Auto Works. All you need is your VIN number and a few bucks. It will be just like the original one. Check it out.

I didn't think "Marti Auto Works" could do a 65.

They can't. I am usually the one who has to answer that. Marti can only provide reports for cars from 1967 and up. Ford got rid of the records for 1964-1966.
