Seems like a decent reference although I can't judge how accurate it might be. I do know that the light bulb used in the low profile, '66 clock is NOT an 1895 as stated - it should be an 1816. 1895 is a globular G-4 1/2 (round), 2 candlepower bulb similar to a #53. The 1895 is used in the tach, glove box and 7 of them as instrument panel bulbs. It will make the clock look dark. The 1816 is a tubular T-3 1/4 bulb (cylindrical), 3 candlepower bulb listed in the shop manual as proper and it makes the clock look the same brightness as the tach. The 1816 is also used in the console. Parts houses such a Virginia Mustang sell the proper bulbs although your local parts-R-us may not. My car came with #53s (incorrectly) in everything since they are easier to find at parts-R-us.
The only low profile face shown is an 8k one in the last page of photos, towards the bottom, with 'Ford' on the face. (The faint green glow is shown accurately in the picture just to the left of the low profile unit.) That low profile is exactly like mine which has an internal date of Sep 15, 1966, which almost surely makes it a dealer supplied item since the car was built 2 months before then. It is that model for which I know the bulbs should be different. |
