Sorry but there weren't any V6's in '69 only inline 6's 200ci or 250ci.
Can you post some pics as we will be shooting in the dark trying to figure out what you have. You may want to try a different part store, have them come out and look at your engine. Ask if there are any guys that know Ford in there.

yeah. Pictures are definate, and as was said above no v6s. pictures would help and casting numbers. if its a v8 should be on the block next to the starter and the starter must be removed to see it clearly. you can also take you valve covers off and see what heads you have. im sure saying v6 was a mistake lol but still pretty funny you give us pictures and we'll tell you an estimate or at least what family its from (385, fe, cleveland, windsor)

What is the 5th digit of your VIN? If the engine hasn't been swapped out we can tell you what's in there or what should be in there.

The "T" would be the 200 ci inline 6, a "L" would be the 250 ci inline 6.

How many lugs on on your wheels? The T code was the only one to have 4 lugs. The L code 6 cyl and all V8s have 5 lugs.

Hopefully a 1969 convertible or Sportsroof (non Mach or Boss) for next Mustang project

Trying to find my father's 1973 Mustang Grande he bought brand new. 3F04F126773 last known registration and title was in New Jersey, 1982.

I would give it a 200. Don't take my word for it though. Looks just like mine though.

First, Is this a v6 or an inline 6? If it is an inline 6, there are a total of 12 ford inline 6 engines. The two most likely engines you have are the 200 and the 250. Ant the easiest way to tell the difference is to pull off the valve cover and read the block. And check the bell housing bolt patterns and starter location.

The 200 engine had four main bearings at introduction through 1964 and can be identified by three freeze (core) plugs on the side of the block. All 1965 and later 200 CID engines were upgraded to seven main bearings to increase its durability. The 1965 and later engine can be identified by 5 freeze (core) plugs on the side of the block.

The 250 engine had seven main bearings and can be identified by the five freeze (core) plugs on the side of the block. The block uses a low mount starter and six bellhousing bolts sharing its bellhousing with the Windsor V-8s 302-351W, late (1965-68) 289, 351 Cleveland, modular V-8s.
