Default Green id tag?

Can anyone tell me what this is for? I took out my backseat and it was under it.

Just for the seats.

They are made by a contractor and delivered to Ford's assembly plant crib. But they have to pass their own testing first and leave a trace of doing that for Ford to see.

Hello. I have never seen or heard of this tag before, but, I seriously doubt that the Hoover Ball and Bearing Co. had anything to do with the manufacture of the seats. Was this actually attached to the seat, or just kind of hanging around underneath it?

Interesting. It seems Hoover was in the automotive business but not making seats. They currently have a warehouse in Washington, southern IN, near my birth place. I never heard of them before today. From their website:

1913 Hoover Steel Ball Company was founded by Leander J. Hoover in Ann Arbor, MI.

1924 Imperial Bearings Company was acquired.

1936 Name was changed to Hoover Ball and Bearing Company.

1955 Merged with Universal Die Casting and Manufacturing Corporation.

1958 Acquired Strom Steel Ball Company and the Coolidge Corporation

1959 Ball Operations moved to Erwin, Tennessee.

1972 Created Joint Venture in North America with NSK.

1975 Entire Interest in Joint Venture was sold to NSK

The tag fell out of the bottom of the back seat bottom. I took it out and it just fell out.

First, no offense but your response that I quoted seemed a bit rude. It may be just me because I was brought up very proper.

Second, if you look at the top of the tag it says Stubnitz Spring Division. Also there are 3 individual tags there. So, I would assume each of the 3 tags is for the springs in each of the bottom seat cushions--driver, passenger, rear seat.

Thank you Sprint

It just shows that not everyone reads the whole thing.

This is the problem with some people in general on the internet.
I have spent practically 50 years involved in Cars and Trucks and even been in Ford assembly plants to watch cars/trucks being assembled.

The almost final phase of the assembly is the build sheet getting tucked into seat cushion or under the carpet before it goes to final finish and inspection.

They only tag incomplete vehicles to go to a holding area for what ever needs doing then Released as being .....Ready to go... not tag for that.

Your welcome. I need to pay attention to the details. I am going to be going to a college for auto restoration, I need to pay attention to every tiny detail.

Rude? i just wanted a little more than the obvious. I thought the response to my question was rude. Maybe that is why i came off rude and i appologize to any offended.

If it was for the whole car I would said so.. but seat companies don't build Fords.. they supply Manufacturers with Ford Designed products.

Hi again. As I said, I have never seen or heard of that tag before, but, given that this company probably did manufacture the actual springs, ( Yup, I just glanced at the tag the first time, also. ) they didn't assemble the seats, or do the upholstery work. That kind of looks like something that someone was supposed to remove during the assembly phase, as in, the inspector checked the springs before Ford got them, the tag was there during assembly, so that Ford would know who to chew out if the springs turned out to be defective somehow, and then they were probably supposed to remove those tags. I do know that I've pulled a whole bunch of back seats out of Mustangs, and I've never seen one of those before. My little theory is just an educated guess, and could be just as wrong as wrong can be.

Since you're in Camp Lejeune, NC, those green tickets remind me of tickets to a Marine Corps dance.
