1965 Mustang pedigree question

I have a 1965 mustang that I have been restoring and now am in for the interior. The engine is out of a 68' and is a 302, so I don't know waht kind of 65 I have. What should I look for, or what are the major differences between the two?

What do you mean "what kind do I have"? Do you mean something like a "T" code or a "K" code? For that you need the data plate information off of the drivers door tag.

Ford didn't start making 302s until 68, so, if your car came with a V8, in 65 the only one available was some configuration of a 289. The fifth digit of the vin of your car will tell you what motor/carb the car came with.
