roasted them and took off.

My guess is he wasn't referring to your actual carburetor but rather the California Air Resources Board & he was probably right about the car not meeting those stringent requirements.
And be mindful of how you describe people, there are Officers on this site!

Some cops make mistakes or just don't know what they are saying. There is some great cops and some not so nice ones.If you get a ticket for something you feel is not right go to court you can get it cleared if its not right.
But I believe if it's not original equipment, then it does have to have to be DOT Compliant.
Not something I would have nitpicked though, if your lights are working & I can see you then you're good to go.

I don't know of any officer that would "dress down" another in front of the public like that & if you're saying that you smoked the tires in front of them & took off, without them immediately pulling you back over..........I would have to throw my bulls#%t flag on that!

+1 on that!! I was thinking the same when I first started reading the thread.

Fitto on the dressing the other officer down in front of you. this does not happen. Also, ditto on referring to the officer as a "pig". He may have been a jerk but using that particular derogatory term is just plain rude and juvenile. Also, most states and municipalities have "noise ordinances" restricting the amount of noise one can produce. Your car may not meet this criteria.
Nothing wrong with having the car the way you want it. I just tell people if they get fined for the noise (usually not a moving violation against your license), to just think of it as a "luxury tax". lol

HMMMM.
There are some cops I would not think twice to call a PIG. There are allot cops that I respect. Not many but yes they do exist. I am just glad I am a Tennessee boy and not a CA boy! I hear of so many rules and regs in CA that if I lived there Id probably shoot myself. Here in TN I can also LEGALLY carry a pistol "with a permit" in which I have but I have heard in CA that they have went as far as saying you cannot even own a pistol in certain counties!!! IS there something called the 2nd amendment?? I thought there was but who knowsOh yeah my stang has straight exhaust!! No crappy cats that restrict your flo. Another advantage of living in the south. I am in no way knocking those of you who live up north it's only the laws that are so strick in certain areas that have become so strick that even our forefathers are probably rolling in there graves. I know one day it will be here also so I am going to make the best of it the way it is now....One day I will be dead and gone and will not have to worry about this world and what it is going to.OH MAN I AM RAMBLING!! AM I STARTING TO TALK RELIGION AND POLITICS??? Maybe I should stop....
You can legally carry a gun as long as its in plain sight unless its a government building.Hell i was in las vegas last year carried my 1911 whole time did get some odd looks tho. Some cities they won't sell guns in but you can still carry it.Yes some states have some dumb laws if you don't like them fight to have them changed. There is a lot of great cops out there i have many give me warnings over things i could have gotten a ticket for.And there is some bad cops but that's part of life there is always bad people no matter there job title. The noise ordinances is nice just wish they would crack down more on the cars that drive around at 3am blasting loud music.
