It used to be the sledge hammer Just kidding, but living in Hawaii next to the ocean, it's a must have tool and my all time favorite. What's yours? I haven't used it on the stang yet, but I will. My project 1971 Mach 1 will start soon.

Reason: new title
Mine would be my air compressor, air ratchet wouldn't be possible without it!

It is impossible to pick one favorite tool. You have to use many different ones to complete a single task. As far as handling one tool over the other, or how they feel in your hands. I have a set of Snap On combination wrenches that have a really great feel and are comfortible to handle and work with. If you based your criteria on the tool most commonly used it would probably a screw driver or a pail of pliers. I have only one tool that I carry with me on a regular basis and that is a Case pocket knife. So to answer a complicated question. I would say the pocket knife was my favorite tool as is probably most other peoples as well.

Some cool and funny answers "My friend" LOL!!!! My next fav would probably be the ratcheting open ended wrenches from Craftsman. Makes wrenching so much easier.
Hello. I have a bunch of tools that I like, but, the one that I have without question had the most fun with was a very simple thing that I made out of a paper clip. After watching a guy try to remove the clips that hold the door release handles and window cranks onto an early 65 for thirty or forty minutes, calling the car everything but a child of God, I would wait until he finally got one out and wander over and ask what he was doing. They would start cussing about the car and then I would get the paper clip thing that I bent a tiny little hook into one end, just the right curve along the shaft, and a little T handle on the other end, stick it in there, give it a little twist and snatch the clip out, then look at him like ' what are you, some kind of moron or something?' and walk off. Loads of fun.

You go girl! Girl Power! LOL! Sure made him feel like a real mechanic! It's amazing how you can use such a simple object to get the job done. SO, you've made me realize what my all time favorite tool is and this is no lie. This tool blows my sandblaster away. I can't imagine not using it. It's got the right shape for cleaning head fins, breaks off to get a nice sharp wedge end to get around bolts, can wet the ends to actually pick up dirt, oil and grease. Ready? Get this.......................................Chop sticks.... Yup, chop sticks from chinese restaurants. I'll eat there and not only leave with a full tummy, but with a pocket full of chop sticks You can use this to detail your engine in sooooo many ways it's not funny! I've got a motorcycle and I can't imagine not having this whenever I'm detailing it or getting it ready for a show. So, I'm sorry for lying up there, but my all time fav tool is wooden chop sticks
Thanks Veronica!
Darren
I don't know as I have a favorite. Mig welder, swiss army knife, probably my tub handler. It's a walk-behind self-powered electric lift that lifts 2000 lbs to the second story of my garage, picks up one end of a car easily, and pulls a car too along with engines etc.
