That awesome car chase and the " King of Cool " driving that mustang, nothing gets better than that

I tried it, and not only was the movie horrible, but you had to sit through the entire thing and got only one tiny cheesy car chase scene.
I think it's the most overrated car chase movie I've ever seen in my life.
The original gone in 60 seconds is by far my favorite.
This is of course just MY opinion, so try not to flame on me too much.

Doesn't bother me. I've only actually watched the movie start to finish twice. Usually I get into a 'down' mode and slap it in for the chase scene, then put in the remake of gone in 60, then watch the getaway in the Italian job....just the chase scenes. I do that for 20-30 minutes and I perk right up
I sometimes think that the movies or regressing. The original Gone in 6o seconds was much better than the remake. I saw Bullitt when it came out and the same with Gone in Sixty Seconds. When the remake of Gone in Sixty Seconds came out I couldn't wait to get to the theater to see it, thinking it was going to be as good as the original. Boy was I disappointed. When I saw the original one The Mustang Eleanor was on display at the theater. It was almost as much fun looking the car over as watching the movie. Some years later the disc jockey in the movie Hal McClain AKA the owner of the stolen Mustang and I became friends. He told me a lot about when they were filming the movie and some the planned and not so planned things that happened. Hal was later killed in a plain crash. Getting back to the Bullitt movie. I think the Bullitt chase scene and the original Gone in Sixty Seconds are two of the best all time car chase scenes ever filmed.
I think that part of the problem seems to be the tendency for the movie companies to use special effects during their chase scenes. I hate this more than anything else.
That's what blew the remake to 60 seconds for me. It seems that they either are too afraid to wreck cars or scared of the liability from it.
THis is why I thoroughly enjoyed the new dukes of hazzard movie. No special effects chase scenes, and they wrecked real live cars. Real driving, real movie.

I've seen it many times. In fact, it is strange that half the time I've watched it I've just happened upon it while flipping channels. I always manage to be within a few minutes of the chase. Good timing.
