I just finished painting my 66 coupe that I have been working on since August. It has new reproduction fenders, hood, headlight buckets, doors, full quarters, trunk lid, and front and rear valences. It is ppg dbu basecoat and transtar clearcoat

How many coats of clear did you shoot?

i finished color sanding last yesterday and am in the process of buffing it. only about 8 more hours of buffing left ! i put on 3 coats of clear, the trunk got 4 because it had some dust in it

Where the fenders the cheaper ones or the expensive OEM Ford Tooling ones? I was thinking about getting the cheaper ones later down the road but was worried they would take a lot of work to line up right

the fenders i put on are the cheaper ones ($134 ea form cj pony parts). the fit is excellent. the only modification i had to make was to to elongate the headlight bucket mounting tab holes.
i used all repro sheetmetal and would do it again. the price is right and the quality is very good.
