Default Just purchased 67 Mustang coupe

It's a project....has a 289 origanal, body is way straight but the engine runs VERY rough. I want to have it rebuilt waith a little more HP than stock.....plus I do want to go through the interior and exterior, so my question is, looking for some good websites with parts for reasonable $$$$$ and of coarse..........advise !!!! THANKS

Congratulations and welcome to the Mustang Club!
Figure out what you want in the end (all original, restore or restomod) and how much money and time you are going to invest. If you want to learn and do the work yourself, you can safe lots of money.
Most people on here will tell you this can be addicting and never ending!
I have been updating our adventures on our 66 Father/Son project if you want to take a look at our website.
Good luck and dont be afraid to ask questions, someone else has probably already figured out the solution here on the forum.

Congrats, same model here, put all the standard stuff in your sig - engine, trans, PS, PB, AC, ext. color, int. color, options, etc. so people will know better how to answer most of your Q's.

Please let us know what you have planned for a budget for engine, etc. so we'll know what direction to point you also. An engine 'rebuild' means different things from $500 refresh to $3K stroker rebuild. How much power are you looking for?

I sent my 289 off to be be stroked to 331, machine work, parts, labor to assemble longblock will be ~$2600 but that will vary by area, shop and what you reuse/replace.

What are your intentions for the car - weekend cruiser, daily driver, any track time, etc.
Welcome to the madness and post a pic if you can.
Jon

Almost forgot websites. For resto parts my two most used are:
www.mustangsunlimited.com
www.nationalpartsdepot.com
For engine parts I use:
www.summitracing.com
Go to each of their websites and order a free catalog, it's great reading for the throne room and gives you a good idea of prices for interior, suspension, etc. many different places will be suggested and most have free catalogs.

Congratulations on the buy and good luck with the build. I've also got a 1967 coupe with a 289 and added some extra HP to it, but didn't have it stroked. Just new cam, lifters, rockers, etc. Easy stuff if you like to do it yourself.

Don't be shy on checking out e-bay for some good deals as well. I was able to save a good bit of money on some parts I wanted.

And you should ask as many questions as you have on here, there is an amazing amount of knowledge in the forums.
