Murphys Law I Suppose Well I am not sure what to do I thought we were doing a pretty good job on restoring a 66 mustang for my wife since she had to sell her 641/2 do to bills awhile back. We found a 66 without a lot of issues and worke don it as far as I could get it. The problem now is the car looks worse now then before we took it into a performance shop. We spent 2000.00 and really I can tell anything they did and they lost parts to the car the engine doesnt even work anymore!! I checked them out throughly and been in business for about 7 years, no complaints. Also researched them on the internet also no complaints. Before tyhis I have sunk about 3000.00 in new parts. Mostly the whole complete drive train is almost all new or at least rebuilt.
I get it out of there cause I really felt screwed took it to another place and they tell me it just isnt redoing, (rust issues) wheel wells, and quarter panels all other metal has been replaced underside. I also noticed since Im not a welder the pans do not look that good and have gaps big enough for me to get my hand into where the drivers side connects to the firewall.
Part of me wants to give up and another part of me doesnt know what to do? I am not a welder at all but am not scared to do work on the car. So I have to send it out to get worked on. I am also not rich.
My question is what should I do now? The wheel wells need to be replaced from front and back and I cannot find anything about how to do that on the forums or in any manual. Should I get it media blasted, dipped, or what to show any rust I really need the most inexpensive way to do this and any other suggestions. I almost want to find another 66 mustang or 65 and swap the parts and make it the correct way this time.
I appreciate any help, just down in the dumps about this one! |
