I need some help. I am going to look at a 1965 2 + 2 fastback. The guy says it is a 6 cyl. How can I verify whether this is original, or just a fastback painted to look like a 2 + 2? How can I verify if all numbers match, etc.

All fastbacks in 65-66 were 2+2's. It was a marketing gimick related to seating/storage capacity. It had nothing to do with engine displacement.

Some fastbacks had the badges, others did not.
