looking for an air breather lid for my 68 mustang w/ 302 4bbl. is about 18 inch in diameter. if anyone has one laying around let me know. thanks chris

Check ebay. You should be able to get a chrome repro or a used original pretty cheap on there.
Here's one though it's kinda high-

See if he'll take half of what he has it listed for or look for an entire stock mustang air cleaner.

ive watched on ebay. you have to buy the whole air breather and they are going for over 150.00. trying to keep it all original. im missing the lid so i thought i would try here before hitting the junk yards.

I don't know how the j-yards are in Ohio but here in Jersey the pickings are VERY slim on vintage cars. It still might be worth a try. When I did a quick search on Ebay under "mustang air cleaner" it came up with 3 pages of results and had a few of the air cleaners you need for pretty cheap. Take a look.

thanks guys i will have to check in to that. i must not be doing something right with ebay. because i only find about two listings for air breathers and they are over 150.00. will do some more checking. chris

Just put "mustang air cleaner" in the search box(without the quote marks of course) on Ebay and you'll get lots of results. Also contact the seller on the link I provided in my previous post and he might take less. With shipping right now it's about $95 which is highway robbery. Offer him $30 for the lid + shipping and all you need to do is get a new 302 decal to put on it.

The place is called Mustang Mania and the phone number is 281-371-3302 or they have the toll free number which is 1-888-302-3703. They have this huge pile of breathers and lids, along with a whole bunch of other stuff, both new and good used original.
