Default Fuel Pump Eccentric + Roller Thrust Plate = No No ?

So ....

The engine builder is almost done ... just gotta bolt on the camshaft eccentric

But ....
.... he ordered a Camshaft thrust plate (from Ford) for a roller motor (?), which happens to not be "set up" for mounting a mechanical fuel pump eccentric !

Turns out that the instructions (from Ford) say that you have to lightly counter sink the bolt holes in the thrust plate to make the eccentric fit ?

Does any of this make sense to all y'all ?
.... have you ever heard of this ?

Could I just get a non-roller (early) thrust plate ?
(which I would assume should be ok with the eccentric ? )

.... oh, btw, the engine builder has NEVER put together a motor set up for a mechanical fuel pump ..... makes me feel OLD !

... and NO, I don't want any of your new-fangled electric fuel pumps ...

If you are using a builder that has never set up for a mechanical fuel pump, you might want to find another builder!

I believe that the trust plate and cam eccentric are two different things. The eccentric bolts on the end of the camshaft and the thrust plate keeps the cam in the motor and limits end play.

You have to post @ least 100 in order to move out of rookie status.
