Fuel Pump Eccentric + Roller Thrust Plate = No No ? So ....
The engine builder is almost done ... just gotta bolt on the camshaft eccentric
But ....
.... he ordered a Camshaft thrust plate (from Ford) for a roller motor (?), which happens to not be "set up" for mounting a mechanical fuel pump eccentric !
Turns out that the instructions (from Ford) say that you have to lightly counter sink the bolt holes in the thrust plate to make the eccentric fit ?
Does any of this make sense to all y'all ?
.... have you ever heard of this ?
Could I just get a non-roller (early) thrust plate ?
(which I would assume should be ok with the eccentric ? )
.... oh, btw, the engine builder has NEVER put together a motor set up for a mechanical fuel pump ..... makes me feel OLD !
... and NO, I don't want any of your new-fangled electric fuel pumps ...
