Default What do you guys think of Comp Cams?

I want to give my 200CID a little boost. So I am looking at dual exhaust headers, a pony carbs 1V carb, and this--http://www.mustangsunlimited.com/itemdy00.asp?T1=CC2106+01 . What do you guys think? Do you think it would be a good set up?

I installed a XE256H comp cam in my 66 289 4bbl convertible. I know it's not the same but make sure all your lifters turn when you turn over the engine as I wiped out the first cam I installed as three of the lifters were not turning. They don't have to turn much but they have to turn. The shop I bought my cam through gave me two boxes of lifters after I wiped out the first cam and I had to use 4 lifters out of the second box to ensure all the lifters were turning. Another thing I found was if the cam specs recommends new springs buy them as my car popped and sputtered until I changed the springs now it runs like a top. My car does have more low end power and torque since I have installed the new cam. Hope this helps

Talk to the guys over at Classic Inlines, they know everything about the inline 6 and have some pretty cool parts.

How can I check that my lifters are turning? Can I do it without having to take off the cylinder head? Will the pushrods turn with the pushrods or are the lifters under the valve springs? My pushrods turn when I run the car.

I really like my comp cam camshaft, but I bought valve springs to match it, lifters and rockers at the same time. If you can do it all to once, it's a good time to match them up and get it done at once, avoid any possible issues.
