Default New to the classic!

Hey there! Not new to Mustangs having owned a '00 V6 and then a '06 GT. Now I am a proud owner of a '66!

I'm pretty clueless of these classics I found out too... I didn't even know where the high beam light switch for it was!

It's off-white/cream color new paint job, standard interior C-code engine. I was told it originally had a 3-speed manual but was later swapped to a C4 auto.

It has it's issues but nothing too big I hope. Seems to have low RPMs and has stalled on me a few times in reverse.
The horns need replaced I think since they just kind of squeak like a sick duck.
The fuel gauge is stuck at 1/4... the sending unit looks new (it's got shiney metal when looking at it from the outside on the tank, kinda out of place with the aged look of everything else) and the seller had a new gauge that he gave me and didn't have time to install.
The windshield washer reservoir is a Poweraid bottle which I think is classic!
No heater. Heater core looks like it was pulled so that should be fun the fix up.
No radio and looks like all the speakers/wire was stripped from the vehicle
Then there are basically the little things to fix up like seats and dashes and what not.

I'm excited at doing some work to the stang and learning more about these engines. Loving it!

Thanks!

I was looking and it seems there a few more extras I wasn't aware of.

It has a Holley 4 barrel carb. Maybe an improper carb tune is the reason for the bad idle?
Also has a Edlebrock Performance upper intake manifold. Dual exhaust too which I don't think was available on a C code.

Welcome aboard! I jumped into a classic about a month ago after owning a 96, 98 Cobra, and a an 01 Lightning.

It's a whole new ball game. They good news about the classics is that they are usually easier to track down a problem and always cheaper to fix.

The rough idle could be due to a few things besides the carb not being adjusted correctly. Could be due to plug wires being ran in the wrong order, etc.
