Wow, that is just an excellent looking car!
You must have put a ton of sweat into it.

thanks for the kind words. yes, i did put some sweat into it, also blood and a lot of money. all the outer sheet metal except the roof is new.
i hate those wheels and am trying to find some stock ones cause i have a nice set of stock hubcaps to put on. i did try to put them over the chrome wheels and they all flew off in less than a block, it was probably quite funny to watch.

Hi Eric, what an awesome job you did on your 1966 mustang coupe! Thanks for posting the before and after shots! Completed just in time to enjoy a cruise this summer. I uploaded your pictures to your gallery for you.

I have a set of 14 inch steel rims that are original to my 66 mustang, that I would like to sell. I'm in Kansas City. I'm willing to ship if you pay the cost.

there is a wrecking yard 20 minutes from my house i have to check for wheels, but if that fails i'll pm you.
this wrecking yard NEVER crushes cars, they have stuff going back to the late fifties. most of the stuff is rusty and they do know what their stuff is worth, but they are fair with prices. it's like a big muddy, wasp nest filled, car guy heaven.

Nice job, have to admit I'd be a little hesitant to attempt that repair you did. As for junkyards, I have three - the one I got my '65 from, one that is run by a complete jerk that I refuse to go to anymore because of the guy, and the third that I frequent about once a month, run by a father/son kind of deal. I go there so much that now they know me and they just let me on the field to do whatever - the last time, it was like your yard you described, only it had rained, so it was a giant sinkhole wherever you walked. To top that, the completely random thing about that yard is there's longhorns roaming around, so while I'm working on a car, there's a giant longhorn with horns about 5 or 6 feet horn to horn standing 10 feet from me while I work. I guess that works better than a guard dog??

My thought is always "I'll stay over here, and you stay over there."

Seriously though, great job on the car, I believe I saw it in another thread about "pics when you started, pics of it now" or something like that, nice to see it done.

That looks fantastic. What exactly happened to it to put it in that before condition?

i do not know what the guy ran into, the car was in his parents garage since the crash in 97 or 98. i never met the driver in person, i negotiated the price with the driver over the phone after looking at it. his father held the title and so he signed the paperwork and i had it towed home.
