Default Info needed on a newer engine swap

Hey Everyone!
I found a 94 Stang at a pull -a -part yard. It is not a Cobra or Hi Performance, but it does have a buildable 5.0 core VERY CHEAP! Is this year a good year to start with? I currently have a 71 302 that run really good. Would a newer 5.0 be a better starting point? I would like to keep it between 250 to 350 HP. Any suggestion? It would be going inot a 67 stang with a C-4.

A few thoughts on this, A later 5.0 isnt a bad choice and would work just fine due to it being a roller motor meaning its easier on the wearing of parts and has potential for plenty of power or to easily stay in your range, BUT if you already have a good running 302 why dont you rebuild that instead? One more thing id be a little worried about the condition of a junkyard motor, you could find a fresher 5.0 im sure for very similar price and the owner could tell you the history of it.

I think he said hes building it for a 67.If it was me i would go for a 351w stroke it to a 393 or higher good set of heads and have one nasty engine. But you have to make sure your tranny and rear end will take the power your gonna make or you won't like it lol.
