Congrats on the new purchase - I remember when I first got mine...and at least yours looks like a car. Mine was more of the rolling pile of parts variety. I'd definitely suggest this much - if you're planning on restoring it, decide now how far you want to take it, meaning if you want to still drive it while replacing parts, that's one thing, but if you're planning paint and the whole nine yards, I'd highly suggest blasting it first to see what kind of foundation you're working with before pouring tons of money into it.
Above all else, though, enjoy the restoration!

Hello. Sounds like fun. Looks like it had a lift-off fiberglass hood at one time, which is kind of a race car feature, which, in turn, sort of implies the possibility of a serious impact at some point in it's life. I would start out by checking the body over for bent up or wrinkled structural components first. Anything can be fixed, but, you need to know it needs fixing before you can start on the repairs. Basically, it looks pretty straight in the picture.
Thanks guys. I'm not really sure what I am getting into but I figured what the hell and just go with it. I'm not sure as to how far I plan on taking it. This will only be a weekend car as it is my third car so I don't plan on driving it much. The car does run, but I had to remove the carburetor to rebuild it.
I am sure that I will be posting here a few times to get things going.
