Default Vinyl Top On a '66 Coupe

New person here. Just had a great paint job done on my car and I'm just curious what some of the members think about putting a vinyl top on. All replies welcome! Thanks

I like the look of a vinyl top but hate that how most of them trap water and rust out the roof.

I am not too crazy about vinyl tops. They are different and can look really good but i think the paint looks better.

If the car came with one replace it, if it did not don't add it. IMO

I like them and plan on putting one on my car.
I hate rust though
I am researching how to make sure no moisture gets though it.

Did I mention .....I hate Rust

i dont much care for a vinyl top but if it came with one from the factory i would most likely add it back on the car but like others have said i hate rust and i like the clean look of just paint

The vinyl tops were installed with some different stuff that would require you to add the two rear mouldings and the retainer strips alond the drip rails. This adds more holes to your car and lets water have more oportunities for entry. Also on the front edge at the bottom of the A pillar they are held down with nails which is more of a rust opportunity. Also, the tops were designed to be glued down to primer and not glossy paint so you would need to redo your roof if you wanted it correct. My car has one and I replaced it but IMO I would never add one unless it came with one, shiny paint looks just as good.
