New here 65' Coupe Hi all, I just registered here. I have a 65' coupe. It's pretty original, almost so original its scary. I've been relplacing parts to get it running good again. I started with a new fuel tank because the original had rusted throw due to the rear window gasket leaking of course. Then put in new brakes and master cylinder. Relplaced the shocks and springs and went towards the interior. I've pretty much got the interior finished with new apolstery and carpet. The original headliner is still in tip-top shape so I chose to keep it along with the dash and gages which all still work. Even the original AM radio still works! I've had the engine running good after flushing it. The old lady, original owner, I got the car from only started it every so often so it had some major gunk built up over the years. I've only recently started to tweak on the moter. I've added and new Edelbrock 289 performer intake coupled with a 600 cfm Edelbrock Torquer Carb and a set of nice Hooker headers. The compression check was still getting over 120psi for each cylinder so I think it's going to make it a few more miles before I need to rebuild. The car only has 101,000 miles on it so its not in bad shape at all. |
