Default Date Identification For Shifter Knob

Hi, while perusing a local flee market the other day i came across this old mustang shifter knob. It was 50cents so i bought it for kicks. Since than i have been attempting to identify the year it comes from with no success at all. I think its classic but have no idea all help would be appreciated.

Hello. That isn't original or correct for a Mustang built before the end of the 1970 model year. More than that, I couldn't really say.

Seem to jar my memory but not sure, I think it is a Mr. Gasket part. You could buy door handles etc. in the chrome and wood.
Manufacture date mid 1970's

Definately aftermarket but still a neat find.

I have to agree, it is aftermarket. I know I have never seen one on a Mustang from 73 and older. Possibly off a Mustang II, I've never paid much attention to them so I really wouldn't know if it was correct for them or not.
