Default water temperature guage

Howdy! My stock water temperature dash guage in my 1967 mustang is not working. Is it best to have it rebuilt (where would one have that done at?) or purchase a new one? (and again, where would be the best place for this?)
thx Jason!

Hello. I think that the first thing that I would do is determine if the gauge is the problem, and not the water temp sending unit or the wire that runs from the gauge to the sending unit. It is faaaaar more common to have the problem be the sending unit than the gauge itself.

attach the wire connector to the temp sending unit direct to ground (engine intake is fine) then go turn the key to RUN.

if the gauge pins to the high side..the gauge works.

problem is the sending unit.
