Default 1968 Mustang value

Can anybody help. I'm looking at a nice 68 coupe. no rust, repaint to 68 candy apple red (original light blue) the original 6 cylinder replaced with a 302, 4 speed TL'der, 5 lug axles a few years back. From what I can tell, 12-15K seems ballpark for 4 speed standard coupe in this condition. How much does having the original "T" ( 6 cyl) engine code reduce the value. Thanks for the help

no pics ? rust ? wrecked ever ? it is impossible to give a value without pics, even with them it is still difficult. i'm not trying to be rude but you should be able to know about how much a car is worth before you buy.

First, look up the value of what the car ORIGINALLY was, a 6 cyl whatever transmission standard coupe. Then, add what you feel is appropriate for YOU considering the car's condition and how much you want a 6 cylinder Mustang that's been converted to a v-8. Personally, there are PLENTY of good, clean V8 Mustangs out there that I would look some more and find the Mustang with the options I really want. Also, I would NOT pay V8 prices for an original 6 cylinder car, PERIOD.

i got my 67 coupe all original 289, california car, no rust, it had been sitting, but had power steering, the car ran fine when i bought it and i drove it for 3 years, without putting any major money into it. I bought the car in 05 for 5700, It had been repainted the original springtime yellow. I wouldnt pay even 10k for a non original v8, Unless it was in super condition, and you have to expect to put money into it. Disc brakes, power steering pumps usually along with cylinder, steering, and many others just to make to car a safe driver, Good luck hunting

Thanks, It's been a long time since I had a mustang. prices have changed. NADA puts the avg value at 11k for the 6 cyl, 14K for the 8 cyl, but the numbers don't match. Being away from the mustangs a while, 14K seems high for that mustang with mods. Thanks for the info, it helps
