Default 1965 Mustang Brake light issues

Hello i'm new to posting threads but i've read many post on here before. My 1965 has been having taillight and brakelight issues. I recently bought new taillighthousings and pigtails for them just to upgrade and when i installed them and wired them according to the wiring diagram they are faulty. When i signal left both blinkers come on. When i press the brake pedal the lights do not come up. The taillights work when i have the headlights on but the blinkers and brake lights are the issue. If anyone has any advice on this it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

OK so i looked at them again this afternoon and rewired them again and now my left side taillight and blinker do work properly. The right side taillight does not. Both filaments on the bulb light up and the right side blinker does not work. Also when i press the brake pedal the lights dont come up. I tested the connection to the brake pedal switch and the wire (green with red stripe) to see if it was getting power. It was. What could this problem be? Please help.

Along with bulb sockets, tail-light grounds, the you might want to consider inspecting the Turn signal switch as practically everything to do with external lights runs through it

Thank you guys for responding. I have the wiring diagram for 1965 mustang and i based the wiring off of that. Thank you for posting the link as well. I talked to Veronica who by the way I might add is a genius when it comes to these cars!! I told her the situation and she told me the same thing, that it could be the turn signal switch. I just inspected the wires and whatnot under the dash and what she said was exactly right. I'm going to be ordering a new one this weekend. I'll let you guys know how it goes. Thanks again for the advice.

Hello again everyone...So yesterday i went out to my car after work and i replaced the turn signal switch and the left blinker, and tail light worked. Also both taillights worked and brake lights worked. THe right blinker did not work though. So after fiddling for a while I called a friend and he came over and helped out a little bit. Turns out that one of the little prongs inside the tail light housing was touching the other and making the both filaments in the bulb light up. We fixed the problem and both tail lights, blinkers and brake lights work. Thank you all for all of your advice and intelligence =)

we are having the same problems, wish I would have seen this sooner. I am replacing my blinker today and hoping that will solve the problem with my taillights as well

I went to Veronica with my problems and she gave me instructions step by step on how to diagnose the whole issue. She helped me through all of my frustration and the other posts helped as well. Hope you fix your problem =)
