Default from 13 to 14 inch wheels on a '65

Good morning,

Was wondering if someone would be able to answer a quick question for me. My 65 convertible has 13' wheels with tires that are starting to dry rot. Since I have to replace the tires I'm thinking of going the extra mile and upgrading to 14 inch wheels. I can do simple repairs, but I think this one is above me. Any rough estimates to the cost involved in replacing 13 inch wheels with 14 inch wheels (excluding the new tires, which I have to do either way)? I have a 4 lug wheel.

Thanks!

Since you have a 4 lug L6 you should be able to locate a set of steel wheels from a late 65 or 66 mustang at a good price. The outlaw II wheel is still available in a 14 4 lug also but if you decide to change over to 5 lug there is a much wider selection of wheel and tires available.

Not so fast there. Upgrading to 5 lug can get really expensive. You have to change brakes, lines, spindles, rear end, wheels. To get larger wheels, it is just the cost of tires & wheels. If I were you I would stick with 4 lug for now.
