Default Advice for Mustang 351 2v,1973

Hi, to all Mustang fans

I'm search something about this model on this forum, but I didn't find anything
My friend wont to sell it (it is in Europe), but before I would like to hear opinion of owners, or anyboy

First, that car is in good condition out side, and inside.Angine is 5.6, and that is all what I know about it.Vin code is 3F03H135908, and register on 163 HP.
Is that true value, and does this car worth 4000 US
TX, for any answer, because I wont to by Mustag

Welcome Home to AFM! I moved the thread here to the Classic Mustang forum where there are many who know this model Mustang very well.

In my opinion that is a sharp Mustang, easily worth $4000, and it would be worth a good deal more here now, since convertibles can often bring a nice premium.

I would swap out those wheels and tires, and doubtless do other things to suit me, but its really a very good example.

The 351 engine, if properly tuned and freshened, is a strong powerplant.

It is in the very good shape...everything is in the function...brown wood wheels...electric roof...radio is maybe original...

To be honest, acceleration in kick down was disappoint me...ok, car have more than 1700 kg, but still is slow.I did't measurement 0-60, but it is in range of 2000 ccm with 120 HP(I have those car).It is largest reason, why still doubt....

That particular year 351 came 2 ways, with the H Code 2v (2 barrell) carburetor having only 177hp (the much stronger Q code 4v-4barrel- carb Cobra Jet developed 266hp).

I think your car has the H code (3F03H........ would be your VIN number, with the H referring to the engine code, and 03 the convertible model, F = Dearborn Plant and "3" the model year, 1973).

Upgrading the car to a 4 barrel carb with a modern intake manifold along with a new exhaust would add considerable power.

Convertibles are inherently slow, however, because of their additional weight (Coupes are lighter).

Convertibles command the highest resale values, though.

I would replace the existing wheels with GT 500 wheels, or find a nice set of the original 1973 rims.

To see what factory rims it could have came with Wheels its a 73 when smog and insurance prices made cars get slower every year.I can't say what the car is worth from one picture but if there is no rust in it and everything on it looks good and nice 4k is about normal price. You can rebuild the engine to make a lot more power.
