I got a set of patriot tri-y headers from summitracing. they fit good once they are in but it was hard to get them right. I took off the factory manifolds and the down pipe, then droped the headers down in from the top. I had to unhook the motor mounts and jack the motor up to get the headers to bolt on. Once i got them bolted up i put everything back how it was and the fit good.

Tri-Y headers are the way to go. They are the easiest to install and they are perfedt fit for 65-66 Mustangs. Buy the ceramic coated ones. They are more expensive, but they last and in the long run are a cost savings.

I wanted true dual exhaust on my 289, so I happened to have a set of original, mint hi-po manifolds. My father had them wrapped up in packing since the 70's. I run them into a set of of Flowmasters and have the trumpets going thru the valance. Nice factory look and sound without being too loud.

I was recently introduced to a site called classicinlines.com. they have some headers for sale. I don't know what kind because I already have some in my car. I didn't put them in but it doesn't look too hard. mine fit in there great. plus they will sound good and noone will know you have a 6 til you tell them.
