I've always known that my '66 is a pieced-together rag-tag car...'65 gascap, '67 windshield washer reservoir, different VIN on the front fender...but I was completely taken aback when I found SHELBY stamped all over the quarter window guide assembly

. What the heck? I thought Shelbys were assembled in Nevada, so why would my C-code San Jose coupe have Shelby parts, unless they were REALLY short on parts in San Jose?
I also found no evidence of the quarter emblem nut holes. My car was shaved prior to it's crappy repaint 5 years ago, but I still thought I'd find bondo oozing through some holes.
Any thoughts???
